was the first time that Octavian was spending the weekend at the home of his grandfather. Besides the excitement in him, a certain pride: it was 7 and could stay overnight only as the grandfather Reuben. The parents left him because he was already big.
grandfather Reuben lived in an old house, huge, wooden blinds, brass handles and high ceilings. And while not the first time I went, something new was discovered. That house was different from his department thought it would be a different style of construction, perhaps, other materials, other spaces.
When lunchtime arrived, the grandfather Reuben put the table in the dining room. Individual, a vase of flowers, cloth napkins and cutlery especially awaiting the arrival of an exquisite meal freshly prepared and well home by their grandfather Reuben to entertain his grandson.
"Never eat at a table as well," said Octavio grandfather with great emotion at home eat in the kitchen, on the run, or watching TV directly. Nor do we gather for eating. At home, no dining room.
Grandpa listened and paid attention to tone, almost more than words. It was as if to say, "how nice it would be something."
In a moment of silence I said, very tenderly
"We're from another generation, my time is built differently. The family got together to share food and there was a desk with a coffee.
- Desktop? I ask, Octavio "What they put on the table?
The grandfather then told that the desktop was a pleasant conversation that emerged after eating.
"Before people used to communicate otherwise, and allowed time to chat, things counted.
"Yes, true," said Octavio, "now everybody is very nervous and worried. Do not feel like talking.
The grandfather felt the anguish in the voice of her grandson, she was a sweetheart and told him not to worry. That even though there was no room, or a desktop, as people communicate.
"And then beyond that the houses are big or small-returned Grandfather important thing is they are solid.
After its first desktop, Octavio and grandfather went to the square, walked, talked and laughed. And so went the afternoon until it was time to return.
And that night, before sleeping in a bed that was not his and he could build houses to dream big, strong, and his family sat down to dinner in the dining room, of course, as is done in grandfather.
